That state of things which pretends to be solid, clearly defined, assured, unequivocal, when in truth, it is fluid, transitional, on the verge of disappearance.
The in-between spaces of human experiences: places that are neither here nor there; lingering moments in time and space; the after the departure and before the arrival; anod suspended between affirmation and negation; the space after the reflection and before the action; somewhere between the remembrance of the Before and the anticipation of the After.
With this project, I am attempting to denote the transient nature of things, beings and times.
The fluidity of the image, the repetitive comings and goings, the moments of stillness extracted from the continuum of time, become metaphors for the volatility and futility of existence. These metaphors actually celebrate the ambiguity of being, the reluctance to call any space, mental or other, our home. These metaphors recognize the condition of transience…
